IBM has unveiled a specialized artificial intelligence tool, the IBM Defense Model, tailored for defense and national security operations. Developed in collaboration with intelligence provider Janes, the system leverages IBM's Granite foundation models and is accessible via the watsonx.ai platform. Unlike generic AI solutions, this model processes military-specific data—including real-time intelligence—with precision comparable to human analysts, significantly reducing error rates.

The platform supports mission-critical functions ranging from document analysis to battlefield simulations. Its architecture meets ISO 42001 governance standards and operates securely in classified environments. Janes provides continuous data updates, enabling defense agencies to accelerate decision-making with verified information streams.
